What stinks?

Hi Ladies! Welcome back to another week of the Mama Rose blog. Before I begin this weeks topic, I want to say again that the purpose of this blog is to discuss the undiscussed. We are all women and we often are embarrassed of things we go through that are 100% normal. With that being said, this weeks topic is BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS.

Bacterial vaginosis, also known as BV is a vaginal infection caused by having too much bacteria. Symptoms often include: itching, odor, and increased discharge. There are many things that can lead to BV. A few are an increase/change in sexual partners, change in soap (even laundry detergent), and pregnancy.

BV is easily cured and often times, you can call your OBGYN, describe your symptoms and they will send a prescription to your pharmacy without a visit. (often, not always)

A few things that I have found that work with relieving BV symptoms are boric acid suppositories, you can find them on Amazon. Also, The HoneyPot Co has an amazing vaginal wash that clears smells. I am not a gynecologist but these are just some things that have worked for me.

About 90% of women have experienced BV in their lifetime and it is especially prone to younger women. If you are experiencing chronic BV then you may want to see a gynecologist.

See you next week!
